SKINLAB Frontman: 'We've Been Writing Some Sick Music'

July 17, 2007

Bassist/vocalist Steev Esquivel of the San Francisco Bay Area metallers SKINLAB has issued the following update:

"We've been laying low since returning home from The Face of Aggression Tour, getting right down to business in the studio writing the new album!! We've been writing some sick fuckin music that is sure to please all SKINLAB fans and friends. Working titles so far [are] 'Face of Aggression', 'Sons of Redemption', 'Hollow', 'Bleeding'. As of now we're in demo stages recording everything down at Snake's [guitar] Greendot Studios. The shit is sounding bad-ass! We're throwing everything on the line with this next album, stepping out of our comfort zone and trying different ideas. We've been kickin around ideas for producers; this time we're thinking of taking a different approach than before.

"Still talking back and forth will labels trying to find the best home. Things look very promising and we should be coming close to some kind of decision shortly. In typical 'Skinlag' fashion, of course.

"The DVD performance video is coming along great. We should be getting some kind of teaser for everyone to check out here soon. If any of you have SKINLAB concert footage/photos that you'd like to contribute, send email to: [email protected] or here on our MySpace page.

"Shows: August 6 at The Fat Cat in Modesto, California with EXODUS. Can't wait to share the same stage as our good friends again… gonna be a sick fuckin' sweatbox!!

"South American dates in the works for September. We'll be heading down there for a short headlining stint and hopefully be coming back in November!"

SKINLAB has set "Now That You're One of Us" as the title of its upcoming DVD.

A video of SKINLAB performing in Maplewood, Minnesota on May 11, 2007 has been posted at YouTube.
